Since this blog is all about money and how to spend, save, invest...we think you'll really enjoy this one. In our research, we came across a very interesting blog site for Americans and U.S. residents to share their story on how they spent their gift from Uncle Sam. The stories range from wads of cash spent on weddings & honeymoons, to paying down debts, to vacations within the U.S. and abroad. It would appear based on this site that most Americans reinvested that money back into the U.S. economy. Many spent their check for something they have wanted or needed for some time now.
A few heart-string tugs included one reader who received the check from Uncle Sam in time to travel to the funeral of another Uncle in the immediate family.
Below, Mauren Antkowski traveled to Granada, Nicaragua as a volunteer to teach art classes on behalf of Building New Hope (http://www.buildingnewhope.org/). Now that is inspiration.
One grad student, with no health insurance and high debt, spent it on an i-Phone. She needs Suze Oreman not Uncle Sam!
Christine spent hers on her first flatscreen TV. She thinks she's the last American to get one.
For the Grecco family, the money means we can take a family vacation this summer and perhaps venture outside of Minnesota.
The site allows you to post a picture, a title, and a brief paragraph to tell your story.
Christine is going to dress up as Vanna White to show off her new TV. Always the marketing queen...
How did you spend your economic stimulus check from Uncle Sam? To our international readers, President Bush passed this act to boost the economy. Essentially many residents received money back either $300 or $600 depending on income and number of dependents. Does your country ever pass similar acts? If it were to do the same, how would you spend it?

With our economic stimulus check we bought a flat screen (more so to get it up where the kids can't try to climb on it than us actually needing it), banked some since our youngest son had spent a lot of February in the hospital and I knew those bills were coming in soon, and I had my husband put a clothes line in our yard to save some on the electrictiy bill.
Great Blog by the way, I have a money saving one too http://moneysavingmommies.blogspot.com
